Pyrantel: a broad-spectrum anthelmintic, effective against roundworms (ascaris),
threadworms (enterobius), hookworms and trichstrongylus in humans, domestic
animals, and horses; acting as a depolarizing neuromuscular blocking agent,
producing spastic paralysis of the parasite; not effective against whipworm..
Usually pamoate and tartrate salt forms are administered orally.
